Seems like nothing is ethical or honest anymore when done by "big" corporations, rather than small, local suppliers. Let's get rid of this graft and corruption, one corporation at a time. I am sick to death of being screwed by Wall Street, Congress, Insurance, Corporations, Big Banks.....it never seems to end.

Small, local is only way to go. Let us take back this country, folks, get rid of the pork, graft, greed, corruption, back to taking care of ourselves and our communities, period. Out with the big boys, especially the crooks who for the main part reprresent us, leaving out the few valiant independent reps who consistently swim upstream against the current to stay honest. Thanks, Lucy. katy kay

Nice article. Shows how well the School Dept. is watching out for local business and also the schools and the kids. This should be brought up at the next election time as a major problem with the Supt. of Schools who supports the people who are pulling this fraud.

What do you think of this story? This is what the School Dept. is allowing to go on in the Warwick Schools.

The memo from the Supt. of Schools now tells all schools that they can not sell anything that prevents profits from being made except for the contracted food people such as in the story attached. They now say in the contract nothing can be sold that is not provided by them in order to prevent profits being diverted from the supplier.

Now in our case, we are the only ice cream company approved by the state of RI and Kids First and we still are prevented from a number of schools. They also now prevent PTA’s, etc. from selling any products in the schools.

I suggest any one who falls into this category should start sending in letters to the Supt. of Schools in the area they are in and wanted to service. Also a copy to the Gov.'s office as well with a formal letter of complaint. A follow up letter should also go to the Atty. General's office. I would also send in a letter to the BBB.
